Clinical Therapist
My name is Marva Carter. I began my educational journey at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, where I obtained an associate’s degree in Mental Health Tech/Chemical dependency. After completing my degree, I enrolled at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, and earned a Bachelor’s in Addiction Counseling. My passion for mental health and addiction counseling led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental health. I have worked in various settings throughout my career, including corrections, where I served as a therapist/addiction counselor. This diverse experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the unique challenges that individuals from different backgrounds face. I am highly skilled in working with diverse populations and helping them regain their lives. My work is centered on empathy, a person-centered approach, and understanding the correlation between substance abuse and mental health. I have used this knowledge to help others return to equilibrium and improve their quality of life.
Marva is supervised by Aliyah Wilson, LPCC-S. She sees clients Sundays 1-6 pm, Mondays 10-3, Wednesdays 5:30-9:30p, and Thursdays 5-7 pm.
