De’Asia is a Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor in the State of Ohio and Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Tennessee. She is the owner of Rise Counseling Group in Dayton. OH. Rise Counseling Group specializes in reducing anxiety and depression among African American women and other Women of Color. A proud Cleveland native, she always knew that she would advocate for others in some way, initially considering Law School before becoming a Social Worker.
De’Asia attended The Ohio State University graduating with a BA in Criminology with a minor in African American and African Studies. She also graduated from tOSU with a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in adolescent mental health. She is also starting a new journey as a doctoral student with the Institute for Clinical Social Work this fall. In addition to her therapy practice, she is an adjunct professor of Social Work as well.
Through the course of her career, De’Asia has worked in residential treatment, Higher Education (student development), and college counseling. This led to the development of her own private practice, in which she is able to give special attention to marginalized populations in a therapeutic environment. De’Asia speaks and presents on mental health, single parenthood, motherhood, child development, bullying, and boundaries. De’Asia focuses on anxiety and depression and the impact of race and gender in the lives of her clients. As a social worker, she also supervises and trains other social workers seeking independent licensure.
De’Asia is a wife and mother of three. A former single parent, teen mom, and two-time cancer survivor. She’s passionate about social justice, mental health, and making the lives of women of color better.
