B is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio. She is a therapist with Rise Counseling Group, which specializes in reducing anxiety and depression among African American women and other Women of Color. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and her Masters of Science in Education in Counseling from Youngstown State University. She is also enrolled in the Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program at Kent State University. B’s clinical and research foci revolve around providing affirming care for underserved populations, specifically the LGBTQI+, dissociative, and neurodiverse communities. She is also a certified trauma professional.
Throughout her career, B has worked with clients ranging from youth to older adulthood, utilizing a thoughtfully eclectic approach to meet the individual needs of her clients. Her work has been in both community and private agency settings providing outpatient services, as well as some experience with college-based populations through her education. B is excited to continue pursuing her passions through Rise Counseling Group to provide affirming care to marginalized populations. Areas of focus for B include but are not limited to sexual, affectional, romantic, and gender expansive populations (queer, trans, polya relationships, kink dynamics, etc), dissociative disorders (special focus on dissociative identity disorder), trauma, attachment and relationship concerns, and neurodiversity.
