Jerita Williams, MPA, LSW

She/Her
Clinical Therapist

Hello everyone!

I’m Jerita Williams, a Licensed Social Worker based in Columbus, Ohio. I have been in the field for over twenty years, and I have spent the last half of my career in Leadership and working in dual diagnosis, both outpatient and inpatient services.

I earned my associate degree in criminal justice with a social service concentration, my bachelor’s degree in social work, and a master’s degree in public administration with a non-profit concentration from the University of Akron. I am a lifelong learner and want to contribute to the field, so I am obtaining a master’s degree in social work from the University of Akron.

I specialize in mental health and substance use treatment. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). I consider this to be more than a job; it’s a ministry; I want to change the narrative and increase the conversation regarding mental and emotional wellness while serving at Rise Counseling Group in the Black and Brown Communities.

In my spare time, I enjoy loving on my family which includes my husband, our two sons, our grandson, our son who wears a “fur coat”, parents, and a host of other relatives and friends. I enjoy serving my community, taking an active role in my Sorority, playing recreational sports, writing poetry, and playing in makeup.

I see clients online Monday evenings from 5-9p, Wednesday evenings from 5-9p, and Saturdays & Sundays from 8a-12p. If you have a special need, please indicate this and your need may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. I work under the supervision of De’Asia L. Thompson, LISW-S.

May 17, 2025 By De'Asia Thompson

For too long, therapy has felt like a foreign concept—something “other people” do. But for Black women especially, therapy has historically been positioned as not for us. This needs to change. This is the first in a multi-part series exploring why therapy feels unfamiliar and why we need it now more than ever. Therapy is […]
