Ashley Jamison, LSW

She/her
Clinical Therapist

Hey y’all!

I’m Ashley Jamison, a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor based in Cleveland, Ohio. For over seven years, I’ve worked in the behavioral health field, focusing on residential treatment and corrections for individuals with co-occurring disorders.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Professions with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences from The Ohio State University, and I am a proud alumna. I furthered my dedication to this field by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University.

I specialize in mental health and substance use treatment and am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Trauma Recovery. I am also a trained EMDR therapist, providing online EMDR therapy to help clients move past their traumas and the things that keep them stuck in shame. At Rise Counseling, my mission is to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health and empower clients to choose empowerment over shame, with a particular focus on supporting Black women in our community.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching football—go Buckeyes and Browns! I also love traveling, listening to music on vinyl, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Ashley currently accepts online clients Mondays from 10am to 6pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11am to 7pm, Thursdays from 10am to 6pm, and Fridays from 10am to 12pm.  I work under the supervision of De’Asia L. Thompson, LISW-S.

Therapy isn’t Taboo: A Soft Place to Land

May 17, 2025 By De'Asia Thompson

For too long, therapy has felt like a foreign concept—something “other people” do. But for Black women especially, therapy has historically been positioned as not for us. This needs to change. This is the first in a multi-part series exploring why therapy feels unfamiliar and why we need it now more than ever. Therapy is […]
