She/Her/Hers
Clinical Intern
Hey everyone!!
I’m Caresse Boyd, a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) based in Dayton, Ohio. For over ten years, I’ve worked in the behavioral health field, focusing on community-based mental health, addiction treatment and recovery, family-centered care, youth impacted by the juvenile justice system, and public health initiatives addressing the opioid crisis.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and earned my Master’s in Social Work from Wright State University. My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that true well-being involves the physical, emotional, mental, and social aspects of each person’s life. My experiences have strengthened my commitment to dismantling cycles of trauma and expanding access to care for underserved communities. I draw from evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to encourage healing, personal growth, and long-term well-being.
My passion lies in supporting and empowering individuals within our community, particularly Black women, women of color, and teen girls. I am committed to honoring and respecting the unique experiences of every client, working collaboratively to build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and achieve personal goals.
At Rise Counseling Group, I aim to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their life experiences in a positive, non-judgmental space. I aim to promote a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and mutual understanding. To me, therapy is a collaborative journey where transparency, vulnerability, and compassion guide the way to effective and meaningful work.
I understand that reaching out for support can be difficult, but it is the first step toward personal growth and healing. I am here to walk alongside my clients on this powerful path, offering the guidance and support needed to empower them on their journey.
I can be seen in the office or online on Mondays from 1pm to 6pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 7pm, Thursdays from 10am to 6pm, and on Fridays from 9am to 1pm. I work under the supervision of De’Asia L. Thompson, LISW-S. Please follow the link below to request an appointment with me.
