Clinical Intern
Sarah graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and is currently obtaining her Clinical Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University. Sarah is a Licensed Social Worker in Ohio and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who has provided therapy services for the past eighteen years to children, adolescents, transition-age youth, adults, groups, and families, in which she has worked in a variety of settings including mental health agencies, schools, homeless shelters, and domestic violence agencies.
Sarah specializes in treating teens, women, and families who have experienced trauma, abuse/neglect, domestic violence, human trafficking, and those with a history of complex trauma. Sarah is dedicated to reducing the symptoms accompanying trauma, including those that surface within depression and anxiety. She also enjoys providing parenting support, facilitating peer relationship groups and women’s empowerment groups, and treating general mental health concerns.
Sarah is passionate about empowering others and aligns with strengths-based practice. She utilizes multiple therapy modalities and techniques to provide a brave space for healing, along with skills/tools to enhance self-love, self-worth, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and optimal well-being. Sarah also spends her time developing and facilitating training for Ohio social workers. She strives to affirm culturally sensitive practice and recognizes the intersectionality of diversity and feminism through each individual experience. In her free time, Sarah enjoys playing and performing music and engaging in activities that promote social justice.
Sarah is practicing under the supervision of De’Asia L. Thompson, LISW-S. As an intern, She accepts clients Monday 5:30-8:30pm, Tuesday 2-8pm, Thursday 3-8pm, and Saturday 8-1pm.
