Licensed Social Worker
Mellaney Edwards is a Licensed Social Worker residing in Cleveland, Ohio. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2005 from Kent State University, she began her career working in community mental health, where she specialized in serving severely mentally ill homeless clients, clients with co-occurring alcohol and drug addiction, and service resistant clients who were not engaged in or connected to mental health services.
She worked in community mental health for over 14 years, serving various populations including veterans in residential treatment, community members in immediate crisis through the county suicide hotline, and later in permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals with disabilities.
Mellaney completed her Master of Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2019. She has a passion for helping people and a commitment to service, education, and advocacy. She currently accepts clients Monday through Thursday 5-9p and is under the supervision of De’Asia L. Thompson, LISW-S.
In her spare time, Mellaney enjoys reading, karaoke, spending time with her family and friends, and attending festivals.
