Mellaney Edwards is a Licensed Social Worker residing in Cleveland, Ohio with over 15 years of community mental health, trauma, and crisis intervention experience. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2005 from Kent State University, she began her career working in community mental health, where she specialized in serving severely mentally ill homeless clients, clients with co-occurring alcohol and drug addiction, and service resistant clients who were not engaged in or connected to mental health services.
Mellaney completed her Master of Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2019. She has a passion for mental health service, education and advocacy. She specializes in empowering women dealing with anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, interpersonal conflict, self-esteem, self-confidence and coping with major life transitions and changes.
Mellaney is committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment and cultivating a healthy therapeutic relationship. Her aim is to provide an atmosphere of caring, compassion, and support to help women of color overcome obstacles, forge solutions, and thrive in every aspect of their lives.
Mellaney currently accepts clients Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 10a-6p; Wednesday and Thursday 12p-8p and is under the supervision of De’Asia L. Thompson, LISW-S.
In her spare time, Mellaney enjoys reading, karaoke, spending time with her family and friends, and attending festivals.
