Licensed Social Worker
Marah earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. She has a focus on mental health and addiction recovery. Marah is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who previously worked in community mental health and specialized in dually diagnosed individuals. As a therapist her primary clients were adults with various mental health diagnoses (anxiety, depression, trauma, etc.) in addition to substance misuse.
Her most commonly utilized treatment models are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and she is always looking to expand her toolkit and create a personalized treatment plan for each individual.
Marah’s goal is to empower, encourage, and support individuals in a safe environment so that they may find their own inner strength. She understands that a safe space where non-judgment, empathy and understanding are used (and where growth and healing can be found) is crucial to the therapy process. One of Marah’s favorite quotes is by Gandhi, who said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Marah believes everyone has the power to change, to grow, and to make the world a better place. Marah works under the supervision of De’Asia L. Thompson, LISW-S.
Marah sees clients part-time online Monday evenings, Wednesday and Thursday (business hours), and rotating Saturday mornings. To schedule directly with Marah, click the button below.
